Legal
Terms of Service
Effective 1 June 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating a developer account or making any request to the T-Code API you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you are accepting on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Service.
2. Description of Service
T-Code provides a geocoding and address API that converts coordinates and address strings into T-Codes — short, structured location identifiers for addresses in Tunisia. The Service includes the Developer Portal, API endpoints, associated tooling, and documentation (collectively, the “Service”).
3. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete registration information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and account credentials. Any activity under your account is your responsibility.
- Accounts are personal or entity-specific; sharing credentials with third parties outside a team structure is not permitted.
- You must be at least 18 years old to register.
4. API Keys
API keys authenticate your requests and are tied to your account's plan quota. You must not:
- Share, sell, or sublicense API keys to any third party without our express written consent.
- Embed keys in publicly accessible client-side code, public repositories, or any other location where they may be discovered.
- Use a single key across multiple applications in a way that circumvents plan limits.
We reserve the right to revoke any key that is compromised, abused, or violates these Terms without prior notice.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-export address or T-Code data for redistribution or resale.
- Send automated requests in excess of your plan's rate limits or in a manner that degrades service quality for other users.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code of the Service.
- Use the Service in any application that facilitates illegal surveillance, discrimination, or violation of any applicable law.
- Introduce malware, perform denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise interfere with the integrity or security of the Service.
6. Plans, Quotas & Billing
- Usage is governed by the plan you select. Plan details, pricing, and quota limits are published on the Pricing page and may be updated from time to time with advance notice.
- Requests exceeding your monthly quota will be rejected with an HTTP 429 status until the quota resets or you upgrade your plan.
- All fees are stated exclusive of applicable taxes. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your use of the Service.
- Fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as expressly stated in a separate agreement.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including the T-Code address database, algorithms, software, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by T-Code and its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service solely for your own internal or commercial application development.
You retain ownership of any application you build using the Service, provided it does not incorporate our proprietary data or code beyond what is permitted by these Terms.
8. Confidentiality
API responses, including T-Code data, are provided for use within your applications. You may not publicly republish, resell, or redistribute raw API response data as a competing addressing dataset.
9. Service Availability
We aim to operate the Service with high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance, and we will use reasonable efforts to notify users in advance of planned downtime.
Current service status is available at t-code.tn/status.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE ADDRESS DATA RETURNED BY THE API IS COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR UP TO DATE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, T-CODE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF REVENUE, PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES PAID BY YOU IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD 100.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless T-Code and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
13. Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. You may close your account from the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without notice if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, your account poses a security risk, or we are required to by law.
On termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 10, 11, 12, and 15) shall survive.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes we will provide at least 14 days' notice by email or a prominent notice in the Developer Portal. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Tunisia. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Tunis, Tunisia, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law.
